Based on the discussions on cultural narratives, processes and strategies in representations of age and ageing sparked at the 3rd ENAS conference in April 2017, this workshop aims at bringing together scholars at all career stages who explore the complex theme of aging and the life-course from multiple perspectives. The main aim is to facilitate cross-disciplinary exchange on questions related to the theme of what it means to grow old in the 21st century. Themes to be discussed can range from (but are by no means limited to) cultural representations of age and ageing, discrimination and ageism, capabilities, digital inequalities, democracy, sustainable welfare system, memory, dementia, care, and medical humanities.
